At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference and we are excited to expand the team with the newest addition of real estate professional, Lisa Cheponis. Learn more about her and why she joined the LIV family:

What are you most excited about, with joining LIV Sotheby’s International Realty? The culture & the mindset. I am thrilled to be part of such a visionary company, with such high standards, and such exceptional people. Years ago, right out of college, I cherished my first job at a stellar ad agency, The Leo Burnett Company in Chicago, which, at the time, was identified as one of The Fifty Best Places to Work in the World. That experience taught me how inspiring and exciting it is to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their work, interested in contributing to the world, committed to excellent outcomes for their clients, and, if I may quote Benjamin Zander, willing and able to “live in the realm of possibility.” I had not found that level of passion, intellect, and excellence again in any workplace— until LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. LIV SIR is a rare company that delivers— hands down— on leadership, culture, vision, and values.

Now I wake up every day beaming anew about my career in real estate. With LIV SIR, I feel I have found my home at last. I am profoundly grateful for the people who first envisioned LIV SIR, and for all those who continue to make it what it is today.

What’s your favorite part about guiding your client through the real estate experience? When a client achieves their goal, their dream, that is when I am happy. In fact, I am dissatisfied (in a good way) until that moment. Listening to them, learning their life priorities, and understanding their vision of an ideal outcome matters to me deeply. Helping educate a client on the current market realities, managing expectations, and guiding them through a successful transaction, such that they are popping the champagne at closing? That fills me with more satisfaction than anything else in this business. Even when I send outbound referrals, I keep thinking of those clients every day, rooting for their greatest success and happiness.

What a wonderful business this is, isn’t it, that we can help people in such a vital process in their lives?

What do you do for fun, outside of work? Anything Colorado-adventure related. Having relocated to Colorado from Palm Beach County, Florida, I am still pinching myself over the gorgeous mountains and perfect hiking weather so much of the year. You’ll find me exploring trails at least one morning a week with friends— along with my exuberant standard poodle. My husband, daughter, and I also love skiing, and my hiking group introduced me to the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Race Series, which I entered immediately, even before I had fully adjusted to the altitude. (Hence, my unimpressive first race, in which I believe I was lapped by a mother carrying a not-very-small child on her back; hence, too, my relatively astonishing improvement year over year.) My next Colorado adventure goal is to do more mountain biking without shattering another helmet, and I’d love to slow myself down long enough to immerse myself in fly fishing— if only for one idyllic trip.

My greatest personal passion is empowering people of all ages to maximize their unique potential and give of themselves to help others; I have a long-term project I am developing in this area. Stay tuned!
