How long have you been in the real estate industry for? 22 years! I started in the real state industry in 1998. From escrow to resort development and residential sales, or from resort markets to metropolitan areas, it’s been quite a journey!
What initially drew you to the real estate industry? I attribute my initial draw to my parent’s advice. They always told me that real estate is the best investment. I became curious about the industry and how things are done here in the US as it is very different from my home country. There is such great potential for upside and buying and selling “right”, as well as the “investment” component – it’s all so fascinating to me.
What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? I would say the biggest accomplishment in my career has been building a business that is nearly 100% based on referrals. It’s important for me to get to know my clients so that I can help them skillfully navigate a major life transition, which can be very stressful and add layers of complexity to a transaction. Often the connection we establish during the process lives long after the closing and I’m grateful to have built some amazing relationships along the way. Coming to LIV Sotheby’s International Realty in 2017 was a big turning point for my career. I’m very fortunate to be working alongside the best brokers in the industry who are confident, passionate, and have high-quality standards for their work.
What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? Being a part of the Sotheby’s brand is a huge advantage in itself. I am constantly blown away by how amazing this brand really is! It’s the epitome of all things stylish, elegant, and sophisticated, which I happen to appreciate in all areas of life, and homes are no exception. Sotheby’s rich history, recognition, and reputation are indisputable. It allowed me the opportunity to meet wonderful brokers around the world and grow my network far beyond Denver. In addition, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty offers support and a platform for my business like no other brokerage I have worked with. The home buying and selling is a detailed and hands-on transaction and it requires focus, expertise, and dedication. I have an amazing marketing and support team at LIV SIR for which I’m very thankful.
What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? In the current world, technology has taken a front seat in our industry and we have some of the best of it at our company – around the world virtual tours, 3D walkthroughs, virtual showings, and virtual staging to name a few. It has been very interesting to see these new tools develop. I’m also keeping an eye on the shift in the way we live. We already have seen the movement in our market to simpler, more contemporary, and possibly more modest luxury homes, suitable to the active Colorado resident. With current world events, we might see a different shift perhaps towards a greater need for personal space to work, exercise, and enjoy life in every home.
Personally, what drives you in this industry? Excellence in service and bringing value to my clients are paramount in my business. It’s thrilling to find an exceptional “deal” or a “dream home” for my clients, as well as achieving the best price and terms for their property sale. It is already beyond rewarding closing on a home for my clients but to make it less stressful or more lucrative is a kind of challenge that I’m up for. Every transaction is different and there is never a dull moment!
What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? I’m an associate member of the Denver Art Museum where I also volunteer as a touring docent. I have always been passionate about the arts, probably due to my upbringing in Europe. Studying art and being able to share my knowledge with museum visitors is a very rewarding experience for me. Traveling around the globe and enjoying Colorado outdoors or exploring the ever-changing Denver cultural scene are also some of my favorite activities.
What community do you live in? What do you like about it? I live in Cherry Creek North and I love the location and vibrancy of our neighborhood. It’s very central and everything I need is within minutes of my home. I can walk to my favorite dining spots, shops, art galleries, and parks. I love the architectural variety of homes here as well – you can find historic and traditional homes mixed with modern styles and in between.
