At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about Erin and Ben Rule, a prominent LIV SIR team.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for?

Erin – 19 years

Ben – I’ve been involved in some part of the real estate industry all my life, including growing up in a home of realtors, then working in real estate finance and other aspects. I’ve been licensed in residential sales for more than 12 years now.

What initially drew you to the real estate industry?

Erin – I moved homes a lot as a child and had a fascination with real estate from a young age. I was working in sales and sales management and was doing very well in the corporate world but wasn’t fulfilled so I pursued my real estate license sooner than I had planned.

Ben – Lots of factors drew me in: The ability to work with a broad range of property types, to help people find the ideal primary home or investment opportunity, and to build my own business that has no limits.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career?

Erin – We have created life-long friendships with many of our clients.

Ben – I’ve played key roles in building and launching several successful start-up companies but learned even more from a couple of start-up failures as well.

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique?

Erin – The international reach and brand recognition distinguishes the company from the rest which has more benefits than I can list here for our clients. Plus our local LIV SIR has exceptional leadership and brokers. It is the strongest team of people I have seen in real estate.

Ben – LIV SIR is an amazing combination of the worldwide power and strength of the Sotheby’s name, enhanced by the top tier local agents that make up LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. The combination creates an ever-growing network of highly skilled professionals that allows us to maximize the service we provide our clients.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry?

Erin – I wouldn’t call it a trend but I am actively listening and researching market activity. Our market changed in 2019 and will continue to do so. We need to be able to best advise our clients on local and national real estate investments.

Ben – Supply, or lack of it. I don’t see any signs that the shortage of (quality) supply is going to change any time soon, but I keep an eye out for hints!

Personally, what drives you in this industry?

Erin – I am driven by so many things. I love the variety of every day, finding creative solutions to problems and the clients we work with. We have the rare privilege of using our marketing, finance, and counseling expertise while maintaining a personal relationship with the client.

Ben – Working with really great clients, getting strong referrals from them, and working for myself.

What are you passionate about?

Erin – I am passionate about realtor’s professionalism and treating all parties involved in the transaction with respect.

Ben – Finding “the one” for clients, my family, and skiing!

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office?

Erin – We are a Colorado family. We love to ski, hike, bike, and spend as much time as possible in the mountains. I am a big reader and would love to have the time to devote to photography. I can’t forget that we have a shared appreciation for food and wine, dining out, or cooking in.

Ben – Skiing, escaping to the mountains as much as possible, and reading a wide range of material.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado?

Erin – The sun, the mountains, and the personality of the people here.

Ben – Seeing how much it has changed (for better and for worse) over the past four-plus decades and seeing great potential and opportunities going forward.

What community do you live in? What do you like about it?

Both – We’ve lived in Platt Park for 13 years so far and don’t think we will ever leave! It is a perfect place to raise our family – we love the walkability to restaurants, shops, parks, and grocery/market. It is central to everything and yet a small, friendly neighborhood close to all the urban amenities of downtown Denver. We often see someone we know while out walking our dogs, which is one of the reasons we love living here!
