At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about one of our remarkable brokers, Diana Begner, in her personal Q&A.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for? I began my career in Scottsdale in 2004 with Russ Lyon Realty (which later merged with Sotheby’s International Realty). After moving to Colorado, I joined LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, which was a natural transition for me.

What initially drew you to the real estate industry? The idea that I could help people with important financial decisions and make a difference in their lives drew me to real estate.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? I would say that staying in the real estate business during the 2007-2009 market crash and being able to provide for my family during that time.

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? LIV SIR is such a unique group of broker-professionals who are knowledgeable and on top of leading-edge marketing tools that other agencies absolutely do not offer. This benefits our clients and that is very important to me.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? I am keeping my eye on housing for the 55+ group as they begin to downsize and look for homes with minimal stairs and how the housing market is changing to accommodate those needs.

Personally, what drives you in this industry? Helping people with what is usually one of their most important financial decisions drives me in this industry. I am well educated and skilled at negotiation and love to use my skills to advocate for my clients.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about helping others achieve their dreams. My whole life I have chased my dreams and have accomplished many of them; one of which was to move to Evergreen!

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? I am a professional ceramicist. I work in what I call “functional art” and specialize in crystalline glazes which I have personally formulated. I love chemistry!

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? The people and the climate – I find that the people who live in my mountain community of Evergreen are friendly and helpful. The climate can’t be beaten. Evergreen is a low-stress environment in which to work and live!

What community do you live in? What do you like about it? Evergreen, Colorado is on the Lariat Loop – a well-traveled destination for art-lovers. There is so much in the way of art appreciation in my community and art activities. Art brings a lot of people together in Evergreen.
