LIV Sotheby’s International Realty brokers Andi Leahy, Georgia Gallagher, and Christine Nicholson collect winter jackets to donate to Coats for Colorado.

The holiday season is a time to connect with loved ones and appreciate the little things we can often take for granted. This time of year is also a reminder to give back to others where we can. LIV Sotheby’s International Realty (LIV SIR) is taking strides to support our community and those who may need a little more help, especially around the holidays. Many brokers throughout the firm are participating in charitable initiatives to make a difference this month, and every month.

As winter settles into Colorado, the temperatures are dropping and it’s more important than ever to donate warm clothing. Three brokers out of LIV SIR’s Cherry Creek office, Georgia Gallagher, Andi Leahy, and Christine Nicholson, are participating in Coats for Colorado, a charity organization that provides thousands of individuals and families with winter coats. To date, Coats for Colorado has collected, cleaned, and distributed over 2 million coats in the Denver metro area. To join in the mission to keep Coloradans warm this winter, please bring your gently used outerwear to our LIV SIR office at 100 St. Paul Street, Suite 200 Denver by Wednesday, November 27th.

“Coats for Colorado is a long-standing annual drive that distributes to a multitude of organizations that help the homeless population as well as children and family service organizations that rely on these types of donations to make sure that people have something warm to wear,” says Leahy. “We are just happy to have such a great group of brokers at LIV Sotheby’s International Realty that are willing to help make this drive a success. This organized effort, which has brought in close to 200 coats, will make a big a difference for the men, women, and children in the Denver area who need them the most.”

Other brokers within the firm are working to ensure that unprivileged children in the area get something in their stockings this year. Stuart Crowell and Delroy Gill, two brokers based in the Denver Tech Center office of LIV SIR, are hosting an event called Boys and Toys to collect items to donate to as gifts. Boys and Toys is a charitable event powered by The Denver Gents. The event will be held on December 6th at Front Range Automotive. For the admission price of one wrapped gift, attendees can sip on custom, experiential cocktails and browse exotic cars.

Whitney Cain, a broker based out of the Denver Tech Center office is also collecting toys for less fortunate children and families. This toy drive is put on each year by the Heritage Greens neighborhood and all toys gathered will be used to fill the Arapahoe Santa Shop, a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that has been collecting and distributing toys to needy children since 1959. To learn more about the organization and to see what items the shop is in need of, please visit arapahoesantashop.org. To donate toys, please bring them to the LIV SIR Denver Tech Center office at 8000 East Belleview Avenue, Suite 200 Greenwood Village.

In Boulder, LIV SIR broker Evelyn O’Neill, is collecting non-perishable food items for Erie Uplink, an organization that serves children and families in Erie who are in need of temporary assistance, meeting basic life needs such as food and clothing. To help contribute, please bring non-perishable food items to the LIV SIR Boulder office located at 1050 Walnut Street,

Suite 100.

Not only is it important to donate our time during the holidays, but year-round as well. Cherry Creek-based broker, Wendy Handler, has started an initiative that allows brokers to donate a portion of each closed transaction to Children’s Hospital Colorado. Handler created this vehicle for donations earlier this year and the program has seen healthy participation among brokers.

Via its #LIVtoGive campaign, which promotes community giving in the areas the brokerage services, and beyond, LIV SIR continues to be a leader in philanthropy throughout the Colorado real estate industry.
