What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? My most meaningful accomplishment has been having many of my clients become good friends. I strive to get to know my clients on a deeper, more personal level as they are often navigating a major life transition like a new relationship, a divorce, a growing family, a new career, retirement, or a lifestyle change; all of which can be stressful and add to the complexity of a transaction. In caring about my client’s big picture, I can more astutely negotiate a sale or purchase that will help them reach their goals. To my clients, I am more than an agent, I am a resource, confidant and friend.
What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? Short-term rentals are a hot topic in the real estate industry right now. Homeowners are looking to rental apps like Airbnb and VRBO to help them maximize their real estate investment by creating an additional revenue stream. A property not only has to meet the buyer’s needs but also make a good short term rental. Features like an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) and walkability, are high on their priority list, as well as being low maintenance with plenty of storage so they can easily lock and leave. I enjoy helping my clients navigate this ever-changing space and see a property’s potential to increase their investment and enhance their lifestyle.
What are you passionate about? I know first hand that changing where you live can change how you live. I was adopted from Colombia at age two and raised in Minnesota. It was the generosity of my adoptive family to change where I lived, that gave me an opportunity at a better life. My experience drives my passion to give back and help others change their lives too. Along with volunteering, I donate a portion of each sale to Give Back Homes, an organization that helps build homes for families in need in Denver, nationally and abroad.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? I love getting outside whenever I can whether it’s running around one of Denver’s many parks, working out at Red Rocks, riding my cruiser bike around the city or escaping to the mountains to hike and ski with friends. I’m also a foodie so I have a good pulse on the best places to eat and I’m always up for trying the newest concept in Denver’s flourishing restaurant scene.
What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? Like many people, I moved to Colorado 15 years ago for the weather but stayed for the people. I grew up in Minnesota, so having four seasons, with sunny winters, was a dream. Fall is my favorite season to see the golden leaves and breathe in the crisp mountain air. The people are active, health-conscious and always extending an invite to enjoy an outdoor adventure!
