At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about one of our remarkable brokers, Rachel Griffin, in her personal Q&A.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for? I started my real estate career in Birmingham, Michigan in 2013. I moved to Colorado and obtained my license in November of 2018.

What initially drew you to the real estate industry? My father became an agent as a second career after he retired early. I would help him with his marketing materials and open houses and I was immediately drawn to this path. I loved the interaction with people and how everything changed from day-to-day.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? I believe my biggest accomplishment has been deciding to get my license here in Colorado and continue my career. I was unsure before I made my move if I should continue here in a whole new market as I knew it would be a challenge. I am happy that I followed my heart and did it!

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? Our marketing! I believe LIV Sotheby’s International Realty has the highest quality of marketing and we reach the most clients internationally.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? A trend that I am looking at and that fascinates me is people wanting to buy the right home…for their dogs. This has increased especially in Colorado where almost everyone has a dog or two. Studies show that 1/3 of millennials look for a home that works for their dogs over their spouse!

Personally, what drives you in this industry? People. I especially love working with first time home buyers. I love the excitement of purchasing or selling to make the next move in life. I understand it is not always a choice to buy or sell but I enjoy working with my clients on a personal level to make the experience as seamless and as fun as possible.

What are you passionate about? Dogs. I have two dogs and they really have helped me through a lot of hard times in life and I could never thank them enough. I enjoy seeing others enjoy their dogs as well. I volunteer weekly at the Adams County Animal Shelter and try to give back to them what they have given to me. I think animals have such an impact on the way we live.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? Outside of the office, I love to just be outdoors! I hike, bike, walk, swim, and run – really anything active outdoors. My dogs and I go for a long 3-4 mile walk daily. I also love helping at dog adoption events on the weekends.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? I would have to say the people and our surroundings. Coming from Michigan, I am still amazed by the mountains every day.

What community do you live in? What do you like about it? I am currently living in Westminster. I like the trails and parks that are here for my dogs and myself. I also like that it is a very central location. I can get to Boulder or Denver in about 20 minutes which makes it easier to work in a lot of different locations.
