At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about one of our remarkable brokers, Dan Dockray, in his personal Q&A.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for? 12 years

What initially drew you to the real estate industry? The lifestyle of living in Telluride and sharing incredible experiences here.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? Selling out a 21-unit building in Mountain Village.

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? Its commitment to excellence and an incredible support network. It’s a company that puts many resources behind its brokers to let us achieve at the highest level.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? The modern customer in mountain towns is now more interested in the right size of a home rather than massive estates. Bigger is not always better – it’s more about what’s unique and what compliments an extraordinary lifestyle.

Personally, what drives you in this industry? Making long term friendships and connections with my clients that turn into so much more than a real estate sale. I enjoy sharing my community and life with my clients and creating relationships that go way beyond the business.

What are you passionate about? My family comes first. I am the father of a 6-year-old and he and my wife are my absolute and total focus. I have also been a search and rescue volunteer for 18 years and enjoy giving back to my community by helping people when they are in need in the wilderness. I am very passionate about outdoor sports, lifestyle, and being the best real estate broker that I can be.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? The lifestyle of Telluride – we are so lucky here because there are no lines, no crowds, huge mountains, and a great culture. I don’t think there is a better place to live and work in the world. We live in an area with great music, fine dining, and no traffic. I spend almost every day on some outdoor adventure. It’s easily accessible and a huge part of why I am here.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? Skiing, mountain biking, camping, rafting, fly fishing, climbing, and dirt biking. Basically anything outside!

What community do you live in? What do you like about it? Telluride, Colorado. This is the perfect mountain town; we have an excellent local community with highly educated people that strive to do more in life and seek greatness. I feel like the entire community is very close and powerful. There are so many friends and limitless outdoor activities.
