At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about one of our remarkable brokers, Laura Zietz, in her personal Q&A.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for? I have been in the industry for 23 years! Time flies when you are having fun and working hard.

What initially drew you to the real estate industry? I was 23, a single mom in college, and hungry for an opportunity. I was drawn to the fact that I was in control of my destiny. I am truly the only person that holds me back. The sky is the limit in our industry and I love that.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? Last year our team, The Mountain Specialists, beat our goal of 120 homes sold and 140 transactions closed. I am proud of our success and the determination of my teammates.

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? I am new to LIV Sotheby’s International Realty as of February and I am so impressed at the level of service to the brokers and most importantly to our clients. It is a level of excellence that I am honored to be a part of.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? Our industry is changing daily and our clients have access to more information than ever before.

Personally, what drives you in this industry? I enjoy the process from the first meeting to the long term relationships that I have made. It drives me every day that I wake up and don’t know what opportunity the next phone call can bring.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about thriving. Thriving in my well-being, my relationships, and my business. Sometimes I wonder if I am too passionate about life! It can be overwhelming.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? I make time every day to enjoy the activities that the mountains provide. In the summer, I spend most mornings horseback riding and in the early evenings, I get a hike or trail run in. In the winter, I love to Nordic ski at Snow Mountain Ranch; I love the peacefulness and the exercise. I strive to get the most out of every day and enjoy where I live.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? It’s a lifestyle like no other. People that I get to do business with are coming here for the outdoor lifestyle. I love meeting people when they have just finished a day of skiing and they are so excited about the idea of being here. Selling property in the mountains means I can show a property in my jeans and boots and it is 100% acceptable.

What community do you live in? What do you like about it? I live in Grand County, Colorado. I sell in the Winter Park, Fraser, Granby, and Grand Lake areas. I love where I live so much that I hardly ever leave for vacation! We are located close enough to Denver that I don’t often give a second thought about an afternoon drive to the city. Grand County offers activities that I love in every season. When the snow melts, I can hardly wait to get the winter hair off my horses and spend some time in the saddle.
