How long have you been in the real estate industry for? I have been selling real estate in the wonderful resort community of Telluride since 1999.
What initially drew you to the real estate industry? There was an opportunity to share all of the fine attributes of Telluride to new people. Some call Telluride home for a lifetime, while it enables others to call Telluride home for a few weeks or months of the year.
What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career? Longevity. To survive and thrive in Telluride, Colorado can be very challenging but I have been able to put roots down and create some of the best relationships of my entire life that still exist to this day! Telluride is my home.
What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? There is an opportunity with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty that creates one of the most dynamic firms within the Sotheby’s International Realty brand for which Telluride has never been exposed to…until now! I truly believe that LIV SIR is about living and lifestyle.
What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry? The most important trend for my market is to make sure that we continue to be an authentic community that also just so happens to be a world-class Rocky Mountain resort; it’s what sets Telluride apart. The trend of people relocating to all types of resort areas has hit here as well and threatens to change the fabric of what makes Telluride special. More people are moving to Telluride than ever and we need to keep the balance of economics across all market segments and to all buyers including the new trend of more deed-restricted affordable housing to keep locals, local.
Personally, what drives you in this industry? I get to live in a resort town and share that experience with people from all walks of life! I am luckier than I deserve to be!
What are you passionate about? Empowering my family, friends, and clientele to understand what Telluride is all about and sharing those experiences so that our lifestyle is never taken for granted.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? Locally, I love to snowboard and play hockey in the winter. As for the summer, I hit the golf course as much as I can and enjoy all of the activities in Telluride Town Park from softball to the major music festivals. On a side note, I think its the greatest Town Park in America! Living in a destination/seasonal resort also enables me to travel a lot and work on my new found love of surfing while enjoying different cultures.
What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? It’s laid-back and about lifestyle; people in Colorado don’t compromise what made them move here or stay here. I also have to mention the scenery. Colorado has it all, mountains, deserts, all four seasons, rivers, ranches, urban areas, and it is just a joy to explore.
What community do you live in? What do you like about it? I live in downtown Telluride and I don’t just like it, I love it. Everything is accessible as a pedestrian. I walk to work, I walk to ski, and I walk to the restaurants. I walk my dog Ellie on the River Trail and I walk to the music festivals in Town Park. Okay I lied, I may ride my cruiser bike to Town Park sometimes along the way. This offers the opportunity each and every day to see my friends and meet new ones in such a personal way.
