At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about one of our remarkable brokers, Annichen Kassel, in her personal Q&A.

What initially drew you to the real estate industry? I’m always on the hunt for mind-stimulating activities and real estate is always brimming with exciting new challenges every day! I love that you get what you put in and create your own success. It is important to have a positive outlook in this industry because it’s so easy to get discouraged or derailed. I believe that I have a “joie de vivre” that I love sharing with everyone I meet and real estate is the perfect industry for that. One of my nicknames growing up was the Energizer Bunny because I always tried to pump energy and excitement into every situation I was in. Another one of my nicknames is also Skywalker because the “Force” will be with you if you work with me!

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique? What I love about LIV Sotheby’s International Realty is that it embraces my professional style as an individual while also enhancing my clients’ experience. I’m able to add more value to what I offer with all the tools and support that the company provides. LIV Sotheby’s International Realty is like my business’ Instagram filter – my essence remains but I’m just way better looking. There is also a great sense of community and culture in this company. I work best in a collaborative environment and feed off of people’s energy and so surrounding myself with such a successful and esteemed group of people truly amplifies my business. Also, my favorite color is blue so that’s a plus.

Personally, what drives you in this industry? Everything I do is with the same goal in mind – to make my client happy. Happy client, happy Annichen. That doesn’t rhyme but it’s true! Buying and selling real estate is stressful enough as it is and so it’s very imperative that my clients trust me to facilitate a smooth transaction and negotiate successfully on their behalf. It’s also important to me that my clients have a positive experience. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the process so I keep reminding my clients to enjoy themselves along the way. Once we’re at the closing table, it’s a party. I’m popping bottles of bubbly, playing theme songs, and busting out some seriously bad dance moves. Every time I leave the closing table, I’m leaving with new friends!

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office? I love taking advantage of all that Denver has to offer, whether it’s going to a show at Red Rocks, trying a new happy hour spot, or playing outside. Pretty much everything I do revolves around food. I’m in a very serious relationship with pizza. I devote most of my time outside of work to my friends, family, and my sassy one-eyed pug named Roxanne. I’m always looking for a new adventure or challenge, whether it’s competing in a lip sync battle, having a dance-off, or participating in a real-life Mario Kart race! Life’s a gift so I try to laugh my way through it and treat every day like a kid on Christmas morning.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado? I love that my job is centered around this beautiful state. I’ve lived all over Colorado and every place I’ve been has had its own unique charm. I’m able to assess my clients’ priorities and use that to narrow their home search to fit their lifestyles. I love the accessibility of Denver – it’s a perfect amalgam of mountain and urban living. No matter where you live, it’s still only about 30 minutes or less to the city and a quick drive to the mountains. Denver allows you to have your cake and eat it too! I also love this state’s patriotism. We are so proud of everything that Colorado has to offer and all try to take as much advantage of it as possible.
