At LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, our people make the difference! Learn more about Doug and Erin Seabury, a prominent LIV SIR team.

How long have you been in the real estate industry for?

Doug – 15 years

Erin – 2 years

What initially drew you to the real estate industry?

Both – Real Estate allows us the opportunity to share our passion for the Rocky Mountains and the Vail Valley.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career?

Doug – Owning a boutique real estate brokerage for eight years.  I managed the operations of the brokerage so I have extensive knowledge of every aspect of the real estate business.  Our decision to join LIV Sotheby’s International Realty was driven by their marketing and technology.  I realized that in order to better serve our clients, I needed a brand and additional resources.  This change has allowed me to focus on the market and my clients rather than running an enterprise.

Erin – My biggest accomplishment has been building a successful retail store that I was able to sell.  It was exhilarating to build and curate a store from the ground up.  My eye for design and marketing is what I bring to our team.

What makes LIV Sotheby’s International Realty unique?

Both –  The continued support and effort to provide the best possible service, professionalism, and marketing not only to us but our clients as well.

What is a trend that you are keeping your eye on right now in the industry?

Doug – There is a lot of discussion about “disruptors” and “technology” and that the company with the best technology will dominate.  Technology has continually changed the industry throughout my career.  Initially, there was a fear that the internet would eliminate the need for realtors but the exact opposite has happened.  We continue to take advantage of the latest technologies and so do our clients. Yet, there is still a desire to work with a seasoned professional.  Buyers and sellers are more educated than ever about the market, however, they rely on us for more intimate market knowledge to help them make the right decision.

Erin –  I am keeping my eye on staging.  I am a firm believer in helping clients put their best foot forward when they list their home and staging does just that.

Personally, what drives you in this industry?

Both – We are driven to not only help our clients achieve their goals but to also share all that the mountain lifestyle has to offer.  There’s more to the Vail Valley than meets the eye!

What are you passionate about?

Doug – I love negotiating for my clients and representing their best interests.

Erin – I love helping clients prepare/stage their home for sale as well as helping buyers identify the perfect home so that they can enjoy life in the Vail Valley.

Both – We are passionate about the outdoors and traveling. We enjoy exploring the Western United States, especially with my family.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the office?

Doug –  Snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with family.

Erin –  The environment, art, reading, family, traveling, skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.

What’s your favorite part about living and working in Colorado?

Doug –  The lifestyle and the endless opportunity for outdoor activities right outside our front door. The great weather, changing of the seasons, the proximity to the desert, and the plethora of both state and national parks.

Erin –  The mountains drew me to Colorado.  I love the mountain lifestyle, the outdoor activities, the weather, the big skies, and the opportunity to explore the west.

What community do you live in? What do you like about it?

Both – We live in the town of Eagle-Vail.  It is a very open and friendly community with full-time residents ranging from families of all ages, young adults, second homeowners, retirees, and everyone in between.  The location is also amazing being only 10 minutes to Vail, five minutes to Beaver Creek and 10 minutes to Edwards.  We love that we can ski or ride our bikes home from Beaver Creek and be at a trailhead within minutes.  It is truly an incredible location.
