As an important reminder with the numerous data breaches occurring, it’s more critical than ever to safely discard sensitive information. While this can be a little time consuming and sometimes tedious, shredding information in a secure manner can keep you, your family, and your organization safe from identity theft.
On October 20th, Wanda Ford, broker with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, hosted her 4th annual shredding event in front of the firm’s office in the Marketplace at The Village at Castle Pines. Cars lined up to drop off boxes and bags of personal documents and papers to be securely shredded. Ford greeted everyone who came, along with the help of the Rock Canyon Poms Team. An on-site shredding truck helped unload and collect materials for safe recycling and shredding.
“Every year it gets better and better. It is so fun to see neighbors from the area embracing this worthwhile opportunity to protect themselves from identity theft by safely destroying their personal documents,” stated Ford.
Each year Ford collects donations at this event to benefit the Disabled American Veterans and this year she raised over $500. Those who came to the event were also presented with complimentary pumpkins, autumn treats, and computer camera privacy covers.
