LIV Sotheby’s International Realty Evergreen managing broker named 2017 Arts Person of the Year

An organization dedicated to actively supporting the communities it services and beyond, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to announce that its Evergreen managing broker, Bob McCarroll, has been named Center for the Arts Evergreen’s, Arts Person of the Year. Annually, the Center for the Arts Evergreen, a community art center LIV Sotheby’s International Realty has supported for decades, recognizes one community member that demonstrates extraordinary achievement and evidence of leadership within the Evergreen community. This year, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty real estate veteran and patron of the arts, Bob McCarroll, was named that leader.

“Bob has been active in the Evergreen community for years and has dedicated important resources to support the arts,” said LIV Sotheby’s International Realty President, Scott Webber. “Our entire team of brokers, leadership and support staff at LIV Sotheby’s International Realty value our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve, and Bob’s recent recognition is a reflection of that sentiment.”

McCarroll was recognized as Person of the Year, on October 10, 2017, at The Center for the Arts Evergreen’s, “Evening for the Arts: A Night in Barcelona” event, which took place at the Christies of Genesee event center in Golden.

Annually, this prestigious recognition has been awarded to a wide-range of individuals who have contributed to the unique arts and cultural community that Evergreen is.

“Bob, a former art museum professional and paper conservator, took Center for the Arts Evergreen under his wing many years ago,” said Steve Sumner, Executive Director, Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE). “He has sponsored many arts and fund-raising events that have directly benefited CAE. He has given generously of his own resources to support CAE, has been a post card sponsor for our monthly mailings, and initiated and underwritten the Art of Wine, a series of wine tasting classes that CAE is becoming famous for. He sees culture, art and music as necessary ingredients in any community, and he supports and advocates for the arts, which makes Evergreen a special mountain community”.

2017 marks the inaugural year of the new location of Center for the Arts Evergreen, and almost double the size of the original art center, today resides in the former Bergen Park Church in Evergreen. The original structure was built in 1880s as the Soda Creek schoolhouse, and was recently awarded status as a Jefferson County Historic Landmark.

In addition to the support of Center for the Arts Evergreen McCarroll is also a staunch supporter of the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra and Alliance Frances in Denver. Most recently, McCarroll was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mount Evans Home Care and Hospice in Evergreen.

“Bob’s generosity in supporting the arts is huge, but even more important is his advocacy for the arts,” said William Hill, Principal Timpanist/Composer Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Evergreen Chamber Orchestra. “I’m very proud to consider Bob a friend, and can’t say enough about his seemingly boundless energy, his positive encouragement, and his uplifting support for all things creative.”

Like the importance of McCarroll and his brokers’ support of the Evergreen community, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty is similarly dedicated to community service, the foundation on which the company stands.
